Farewell from Dr Anna Griffiths
Dear patients,
At the end of March, I am retiring from Belvoir Health Group. I arrived as Dr John Lowe’s GP trainee at Cotgrave surgery in August 1994 on the same day that Dr Alex MacDonald started as a partner. Since then I have progressed within the organisation from locum doctor, salaried GP and became a partner based mainly at Bingham in 2003.
I qualified as a doctor from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in 1989 and I can’t believe where the time has gone.
I have absolutely loved being a GP in our community, it has been a privilege to get to know so many people, trying to help you through difficult or uncertain times and also celebrating life’s happy times. My special interests have been women’s health, diabetes, end- of -life care and medical students and I thank you for your patience, taking the trouble to spend time with the students and put up with me always running late in surgery.
I have grown up with a lot of you, getting married, becoming a mother to my 4 now flown-the-nest daughters, saying farewell to my parents over these years.
Belvoir Health Group has gone through so many changes and I have been inspired by my GP partners both retired and active for their leadership, wisdom, dedication and support. We are supported by a wonderfully enthusiastic and loyal team who really care about what they do and who make it a pleasure to go to work every day. I leave knowing that Belvoir Health Group is resilient, flexible and always looking to provide the best service for our community.
Soon I will be moving to beautiful Eryri but you’ll probably see me in the Gregg’s queue before then.
Goodbye and best wishes!
