Out of Hours

Your GP out-of-hours services are the responsibility of the Clinical Commissioning Group. If you or your family need urgent medical care when the surgery is closed, please phone 111 for the out-of-hours services.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit. A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to see a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Urgent Appointments

If you have a problem which you feel needs attention urgently on the same day and cannot await a routine consultation, please phone the Receptionist, who will take your details and ask a clinician to phone you back, and they will then deal with your problem in the most appropriate manner.

About Us

We are a large practice covering an extensive rural area and population of over 23,000 from three surgery sites in south-east Nottinghamshire. There are 12 doctors in the non-limited Partnership of Belvoir Health Group, practising from our surgeries in Cropwell Bishop, Cotgrave and Bingham.

You will be able to see and get to know the doctors and staff at the surgery that you attend. We have a full complement of ancillary staff at each location, both nursing and administrative, in order to make the practice run efficiently.

Our aim, with your co-operation, is to provide a high standard of care for all our patients.

The medical team is made up of the 12 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 6 Practice Nurses and 4 Health Care Assistants. The Practice Manager and Support Services Office are based at Cropwell Bishop Surgery, in premises newly built in 1993.

The Practice area covers 72 square miles, from villages such as Screveton in the North to Hickling and Kinoulton in the South; from Cotgrave in the West to Plungar and Stathern in the Vale of Belvoir to the East.

Cropwell Bishop is a farming village east of the A46, where over 5,000 patients are registered. About 3,000 patients live in the surrounding villages, some within Leicestershire.

Cotgrave is a larger ex-mining village west of the A46, serving over 7,000 patients. Nearly all the patients live in the village.

Bingham is a market town on the A52 Nottingham to Grantham road, having a patient population of over 10,000. Two-thirds of patients live in Bingham, and the rest come from the villages to the North and East
